Karen Kovolski, NCIDQ, LEED AP is a senior interior designer who coordinates commercial and institutional projects. She has a passion for design and collaboration, and primarily focuses on programming, space planning, specifications, FF&E selection, and construction administration. Karen enjoys the problem solving and creative thinking required for planning interior spaces and is a strong communicator of the team’s design ideas. Some of her current projects at ALMA include Markle Hall, Starfinder, and Alpha,

 

After earning a graduate degree in Interior Design, Karen has spent 12 years honing her skills in commercial, adaptive reuse, and institutional projects that encompassed a variety of opportunities and challenges. She joined ALMA in 2016; previously, she worked directly with clients like Boeing, Shire Pharmaceuticals, QVC, and Comcast Spectacor. She is NCIDQ certified and a LEED Accredited Professional.

 

Karen has led presentations and tours for the IFMA Greater Philadelphia chapter (2015), the Greenbuild Convention (2013), and the AIA National Convention (2016). She also is an adjunct professor at the College of Architecture and the Built Environment at Philadelphia University.
