The landscape presented a challenging set of natural and legal constraints. The resulting boundaries, particular to each site, suggested different approaches to intervention. A series of massings and orientations were explored to find the optimal site relationships. Each house took a unique form to relate to its particular site conditions. The building nestles into the ground, allowing the interior an intimate relationship with the landscape. The building's mass is curled around a court and it's interrupted to allow the crisscrossing of light, air, and views - to the brook, and to the forest.
