The existing Portlock Black Cultural Center was outgrowing its space and it needed to be relocated. The College wanted student groups’ and alumni input to shape a better student experience. We met with multiple members of the community to get consensus on the 5,000 SF program.  The result is a space that is safe and comfortable for students to occupy for structured and impromptu discussions that celebrate black culture and honor the center’s history.
